Eric leads Nurture Realty with knowledge, wisdom and a strong commitment to this community by building authentic relationships.  He has earned the trust of his clients over the years with his expert negotiation, and straight forward communication style which has garnered him deep respect within the Portland real estate market.  Eric's educational achievements in accounting and a Masters degree in business has allowed him to build a relevant real estate practice that is unique in its approach to helping families build their dreams in Portland.  He and his wife moved to this great city in 2005 from their college town of Chattanooga TN.  They enjoy the feeling of being in a small town/big city and firmly believe that no other city offers them the opportunity to build the life they want together.

Shanan Batson: Licensed Administrative Assistant                                                            

Shanan supports the Nurture team and community with the “behind the     scenes” work.  After 12 years with the catering department of Elephants Delicatessen she’s moved to a new type of hospitality with Nurture Realty.  Coming from a background in catering and event planning has given her the unique set of skills needed to handle time sensitive requests and find creative solutions for all types of challenges.  She moved to Portland with her husband and high school sweet heart, Brad, and 3 daughters in 1999 and quickly fell in love with the weather and quirky personality of the city.  They’ve loved raising their girls in Portland, a big change from their small hometown in Indiana.  She enjoys live music, crafting, connecting with friends, and walking the lovely streets of her NE Portland neighborhood. 

Ross Van Sickle: Director of Operations                                                            

Ross began his journey with the Nurture team in 2021 as the Client Care Coordinator before assuming the role of Director of Operations in 2022. Within these positions, he has played a crucial role in overseeing day-to-day operations and collaborating with fellow leaders to ensure the team's success. With 30 years of experience as an Aquatic Program Coordinator at Tualatin Hills Park and Recreation District, Ross brings a wealth of expertise in communication and customer service to his current role. Originally from South Dakota, Ross grew up in Raleigh Hills and attended Beaverton High School, where his passion for swimming and Water Polo thrived, ultimately shaping his career path. Today, as part of the Nurture team, Ross continues to leverage his skills to provide exceptional care to clients throughout every stage of their transactions..
